Today is the real last day of summer.

Even though I went back to work a week ago, the fact that the children were still on holiday, free to run around the house and the neighbourhood with their friends, and those long, sunny afternoons… everything at home still felt like summer and the holidays.

Tomorrow, school starts again. For them, it’s a new school — secondary school here in Germany. For the first time, they will be attending different schools and different classes. A new beginning, within the continuity of the love I have for them and the love that surrounds us.

I love you, Diego and Wanda. May this new adventure bring you happiness, good people and friends, and countless beautiful moments to remember.

A sweet summer spent with my family, a summer that is still going, with long days and nice weather. This week, I’m heading back to work after my summer break, and my Diego leaves me this lovely message in my notesbook.

3, 7, 30, 40. Are the numbers of the mobile homes we have stayed in during our holidays at Valkanela, since our first visit in 2014. We are back here in the summer of 2026.
This place has by now become part of our family story, our experiences and our memories.

The news of Sinner missing the US Open as well, after withdrawing from Canada and Cincinnati Opens, is annoying. Of course, we wish him good recovery and all the best and bla bla bla, but my point here is that the interest in the tennis tour decreases with the best missing; and imagine I was thinking to subscribe to the pay tv tennis platforms to follow the ATP tour, fortunately I didn’t do that. These Tournaments without the top players make no much sense for me.

A lovely little family vacation in Paris. Five days spent together enjoying the city, the beautiful weather, the wonderful and newly renovated Hôtel Le Magnifique with its swimming pool, its colorful themed connecting rooms, and its Montparnasse neighborhood.

The boys weren’t too keen on just wandering around the city without a plan, but we did see Notre-Dame, the Eiffel Tower, Sacré-Cœur and its charming surrounding neighborhoods, and the PSG stadium.

We enjoyed delicious French crêpes, Japanese food, and an excellent Neapolitan pizza at La Manifattura. We traveled by train and metro, walked hand in hand with Diego and Wanda, and are now returning happily to Herrenberg, grateful for the time we spent together as a family.

With the PULP live in Belfort this year, I have closed the circle of the live concerts of my Idols I have been to. Live PULP were missing (even if compensated by my chance encounters with Jarvis Cocker!), and I finally made it.

Congrats to Spain who has won the football World Cup.

Argentina was a team of bullies and nothing else.

I am losing interest in this football comedy anyway.

It’s great to see Sinner fighting,  performing,  dominating, and winning.

It was a mountain to climb against a super Zverev. But Sinner is Wimbledon champion again!

A beautiful weekend with my wife, with the music we love.

We were supposed to spend the Pfingsferien in Toscana like last year, but we had to change plan at the end and we decided for Alsace!
We started in Frankfurt, a weekend to support our Wanda at the Deutsche Cheerleading Meistershaft. For the occasion we booked a couple of days at the Niu hotel , and it was also the opportunity to spend some quality time with my son Diego.
We then drove to Riquewihr in Alsace. We stayed 4 days there. A lovely old town, and we stayed at Le Schoenenbourg , which I liked a lot. We visited Colmar and the surroundings, tasted local wine and food, watched the Roland Garros, enjoyed the pool and our beautiful family.
Then we spend 2 more days In Freiburg: first day we visited the city, very nice and full of young people; second day was spent in Rulantica for the joy of Diego and Wanda.

It was a plan B, but it turned to be a beautiful vacation with my family – in Alsace and Freiburg. And we, Guni, Wanda, Diego, and me, showed again to be flexible, open, resilient; because we love each other and we love the time we spend together.

More than ever in unfortunate moments like this one in Paris, you are my idol Jannik.

You are the positive inspiration the generations should follow, if they could.

You are a boy to admire and to love.

Last weekend. Thank you Bro! For the time you’ve spent with me and my family, and especially for taking the time to be with my kids. It’s been lovely.

The tennis club is my favourite place during spring and summer in Herrenberg: TC Herrenberg.

Food quality is also very good at Ulrich’s , that offers the best pizza in town, which makes the tennis club hours even more enjoyable.

Watching Tennis is a good entertainment for me lately; I am a fan of Sinner.

For the 3rd consecutive time Italy is not qualifying for the football World Cup. Diego would have liked to see the italian team joining the tournament next summer; that is the only, but good, reason I am sorry about this.
Finally, after the 2 weeks of stop due to boring stuff of the National teams, the Serie A and SSC Napoli will be back next weekend.

I am weary, in a packed March, visiting Napoli and seeing the beautiful Wanda qualifying for the Deutschmeistershaft.

After about 12 years of dormant limbo in hyperspace, I have just reappeared in the Asimov’s Foundation Universe leading a small independent kingdom… It is just a game (https://foundationgame.com/) but, whatever connects me with the (original) beautiful story, has something special.
Asimov’s Foundation (trilogy) is forever my favorite book.
